After Care & Advice 
Massage - Swedish, Aromatherapy & Indian Head 
 
• Possible post-treatment reactions can occure such as: sickness, emotional anxiety, and headaches. These normally subside within 24 hours. 
• Rest before doing too much to allow for blood circulation to return to normal. 
• Drink plenty of water. 
• Avoid stimulants such as caffeine or alcohol for the next 24 hours. 
• Avoid strenuous exercise. 
• Avoid heavy or spicy meals. 
• If oils have been used in the hair, avoid shampooing for several hours so the hair can benefit from the treatment and oil. 
• Increase in urination/bowel movement may occur due to the body releasing toxins and digestion being stimulated. 
• Aching and soreness of muscles, this will be short-lived and should be followed by the relief of tension. 
Manicures & Pedicures 
 
• Book in for regular appointments at least every 2-4 weeks to keep hands and feet at their best. 
• Use hand cream or lotion every day to keep skin subtle. 
• Use a cuticle cream or oil to moisturise the soft tissue around the nails. 
• Use a foot file in-between pedicures to keep hard skin under control. 
• Dry your feet thoroughly after showering/bathing. 
• Don't wear tight socks, tights or shoes. 
 
PLEASE TAKE CAUTION 
• Some nail polish can take up to two hours to dry completely. 
• Try to avoid closed in shoes, lots of walking or driving after your pedicure until at least 2 hours after your treatment. 
• Keep the use if your hands to a minimum until at least 2 hours after your manicure. 
Tanning 
 
• Avoid bathing and showering. Time is needed for the product to be absorbed by the skin. Leave at least 8 hours before showering/bathing. Once showered pad the skin dry. 
• Try to avoid excessive perspiration after your tan for as long as you can. 
• Moisturise daily help prolong your tan. 
• Exfoliating is recommended but reduced to once a week only. 
Facials 
 
• Regular treatments every 4-6 weeks will improve your skin. 
• Avoid make-up for up to 12 hours, light mascara and lipstick is fine. 
• Drink plenty of water. 
• Avoid sun-bathing for up to 12 hours. 
• Avoid direct heat, such as hot baths and saunas etc. 
• Avoid swimming pools for up to 12 hours. 
• Avoid smoking and alcohol. 
Waxing 
 
• Avoid hot baths, showers, steam rooms, saunas and Jacuzzi baths for 24 hours after treatment. 
• Avoid sun bathing or sun beds for 24 hours. 
• Deodorant should be avoided after underarm waxing for 24-48 hours. 
• Make-up should be avoided following facial hair removal for 24-48 hours. 
• Exfoliate at least 3 times a week to minimise in growing hairs, 
• Moisturise daily. 
• Do not apply tanning products to the area for 24 hours. 
• No massage, heat or friction to the area for 24 hours. 
• No swimming in chlorinated water for 24 hours. 
• No excercise for 24 hours. 
• Re-book for waxing treatments approximately 4-6 weeks later, dependent on hair growth. 
• Waxing treatments are very stimulating and so a heat reaction can occur on the skin for several hours following a treatment. Reactions can vary from a mild redness to a red rash. If symptoms do not improve in 24 hours see your GP for advice. 
Tints/Perms 
 
• Avoid rubbing the eyes. 
• Avoid heat treatments for 24 hours, such as sun beds, baths, saunas 
• Avoid sunbathing for 24 hours, as this fades the tint. 
• Avoid putting your contact lenses back in for the rest of the day. 
• I do my best to remove the tint from the skin (If any at all) but sometimes a small amount can be seen, this will come off. 
• Do not apply make-up or receive any further eye treatments for at least 24 hrs after your treatment. 
Reactions include: redness, itching, blotches, soreness, swelling, blindness.

Reactions to chemicals differ from person to person. Mild to severe damage can occur even if the chemicals are applied only around the eyes. The reaction of eyes can range from mild irritation to a full-blown allergic reaction. The reaction can also lead to even permanent blindness.
